Fly murder in the Apartment

June 24, 2023July 28, 2023
So there I was, minding my own business - music up, doing a little cleaning after brushing my dog’s teeth - when I noticed that a fly had made it into my apartment during the teeth cleaning adventures.

At first I thought maybe I could shoo him out the door, but that was a fruitless endeavor.
The man was here to stay it seemed.

So as I was cleaning I noticed him buzzing to and fro, and I spent a few minutes searching the drawers for a fly swatter that I apparently no longer own.

But as the apartment got more clean and his buzzing around got more annoying it was clear that something had to be done.

Unfortunately for him he made a turn into my bathroom, so I grabbed a sandal and followed him in there.

As I shut both the closet and the bathroom door I thought to myself “only one of us is leaving this bathroom alive buddy”

He tried an escape to the closet! But I was able to cut him off and get the door fully closed.
He thought he could hang out in the shower, but I disturbed his peace in there.

There were a few moments where he alluded me above the bathroom light fixture - but a quick swipe of the sandal put him back in the air.

I chased him around flailing about with no affect, when he made the mistake of landing on the wall. Above the sink. Close to the ceiling.

As I climbed the sink like a ninja I caught my own reflection in the mirror - yoga band on from earlier to keep my hair back, bloodlust in my eyes, and the thrill of the chase in my veins.

As I stood up on the counter hoping I wouldn’t hurt myself trying to best a fly, I had my shot, and just like that - SWAT, my sandal turned him into a bloody spot on the wall.

During the clean up I felt a little sorry that I couldn’t persuade him to leave through the door that he came.
